Andy Stobbart enjoyed a successful 34 year banking career. Starting at The Royal Bank of Scotland in 1986 he held senior positions in Personal Banking, Commercial Banking and Corporate Banking. Laterally he ran a bespoke portfolio of Corporate clients with turnover up to £200m whilst providing funding packages up to £100m.
In 2009 Santander approached him to open a new Corporate Banking Office in Sheffield as Area Director and bring a new Corporate Banking brand to the High Street. Starting with just one member of staff Andy recruited a team of thirty. One office increased to seven and he was recognised internally with Santander’s Corporate Banker of the Year award in 2011. External recognition includes the prestigious Insider awards where he was awarded Corporate Banker of the Year in 2012 and Santander obtained their first ever award in 2013 as Corporate Bank of the Year. He retired from Banking in 2020 as one of only nine Regional Directors in the UK.
His final achievement came in 2021 when he was awarded Insiders Lifetime Achievement Award.
